The nose is one of the very first things you will notice about someone’s face when engaged in conversation with them.
Some people may be self-conscious about their nose, noticing such things as bumpiness, droopiness, or that their nose is not straight.
Occasionally, surgery is required in order to correct these problems but for many people, there is a way to achieve improvement with filler alone: The non-surgical rhinoplasty.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as the non-surgical nose job, is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses injectable dermal fillers to allow the nose to be reshaped without having to undergo surgery.
Filler can be used to straighten one’s nasal profile, create a nose bridge, lift a droopy tip, and smooth out any visible bumps.
Who is good candidate?
Good Candidates for Non-surgical Rhinoplasty include men and women with:
- An asymmetrical nose
- A droopy tip of the nose
- A bumpy nose
- A bridge that is too narrow
- An nose profile that is not straight
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty in Calgary
During your initial consultation, Dr. Jonathan Lee—our board-certified plastic surgeon—will perform a thorough evaluation of your nose and entire face.
He will determine if you are a good candidate for a non-surgical rhinoplasty and make a recommendation tailored to your specific goals.
Pre-treatment photos will be taken and any potential risks and complications will also be discussed.
Dr. Jonathan Lee (MD, FRCSC) is an experienced, Canadian and New York fellowship-trained Plastic Surgeon based in Calgary. Well-established, he is board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and specializes in both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.
The procedure typically takes about 15 minutes to perform and is occasionally performed at the time of the initial consultation.
Dr. Lee carefully injects the filler into the nose using a very fine needle, creating the desired result.
The filler is then further shaped and moulded to further refine the result.
Because the filler also contains the freezing agent Lidocaine, the procedure is virtually painless.
After the Procedure
The results following filler treatment are immediately visible.
Bruising and swelling may occur but are usually minimal and most patients can resume their normal activities immediately.
What exactly is in these fillers?
Dr. Lee uses only the highest quality hyaluronic acid fillers that have a proven safety record.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar molecule that is produced by the body.
The hyaluronic acid used in fillers is synthesized to make it more resistant to degradation, allowing for longer lasting results.
How long will the results last?
Non-surgical nose jobs will typically last up to a year.
Your body will start to break down the filler near the end of this period in a symmetrical and gradual way.
Because the filler is non-permanent, many patients will come in for a touch-up at 6 month to yearly intervals in order to maintain the desirable look of the nose that they have grown used to.
